QUOTES

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

*Albert Schweitzer

Do you feel as though you lack love to give? Give, and you will have more. Do you feel as though you are not loved enough? Love someone, and you will be more loved. Do you feel your love was betrayed by someone? Love someone else, anyway. Do you feel you failed to love someone rightly, and lost him or her? Prepare to give love another chance, some day. Does one candle diminish its light by lighting another candle? No. In a world where we shall one day lose everything, even our bodies from dust to dust, but Love for all our loving shall not have become the less, but increased the more to the degree we loved. Love is the only thing worth living for, and dying for. God is Love, Love is God.

SPIRITUAL TEACHING

There was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink. So, all repaired their boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to persevere until the last moment.

When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to request help. Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness said, "No, I can't. There's a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There's no place for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity, who was passing by in a beautiful boat, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you. You are wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by, and Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you." "Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Happiness passed by Love. She was so happy that she did not even hear Love calling for help.

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I'll take you." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he forgot to ask the elder her name. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Love, realizing how much he owed her, asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?" "She was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled, with deep wisdom, and said, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.”

You wrote me a beautiful letter, I wonder if you meant it to be as beautiful as it was. I think you did; for somehow I know that your feeling for me, however slight it is, is of the nature of love. … When you tell me to come, I will come, by the next train, just as I am. This is not meekness, be assured; I do not come naturally by meekness; know that it is a proud surrender to You.

Today, Valentine's Day, remember in gratitude persons you have met who taught you the meaning and mystery of Love in a special way, by your heart and his or her's connecting in a godly, spiritual way.
